Project 3 (FINAL): Organic Modelling (Character)

Image
Project 3 (FINAL): Organic Modelling (Character) For our last and final project, we were to choose one of our favourite characters and model them while referencing a model sheet. Since we had free reign on the character we could choose, I decided on our beloved neighbour, Totoro! As Totoro is a fuzzy and fluffy looking creature, I made sure to give him some hair particles and use the principled hair BDSF to show that look! Below are the wireframe, EEVEE and cycles renders I did of Totoro.

Project 2: Theme Scene-Based Model

Project 2: Theme Scene-Based Model For my 2nd project, we were to create a mini Theme Scene-Based model. We had a few theme options to choose from however, I chose to do a Medieval Tavern model in the isometric composition. I added a few materials and effects to the model to make it look like my intended vision, for example, adding a wooden texture to the tables and chairs of the tavern. Below are the wireframe and cycles render of the model.  Overall, I really like my tavern build however, I wish I added a bit more detail to my roof like roof shingles so it could really pop!

Project 1: Sci-Fi Gun

Image
Project 1: Sci-Fi Gun For my first project, we had to create a hard surface object in the following categories: a. Vehicle b. Weapon c. Robot d. Machine e. Treasure Box I decided to do b. Weapon, specifically a Sci-Fi Gun. I decided to give the materials of the gun a metal effect, to showcase what a typically gun would be made of and give it the feel of a weapon. Below are the wireframe for my model, a render in EEVEE and a render in cycles. Overall, I believe my model is pretty satisfactory but if I could change anything, it's that I would add more detail to the gun itself and extra elements in order for it to look more interesting as a whole.

Exercise 3: Cube

Image
Exercise 3: Cube For this exercise, we were to make a simple object of any kind using a cube. We were allowed to use a multitude of other objects however the cube had to be the star of the show. In this exercise, I decided to make a simple sofa using only the cube object (and blender tools to modify it of course). Below includes the render with wireframe and an Eevee and Cycles render respectively. For this, I largely made use of the bevel tool to create a modern styled sofa. Using contrasting colours, I also added a simple texture to the orange cushions to create a velvet effect, using BDSF Principled Hair.

Exercise 2: Cylindrical shape (Tableware)

Image
Exercise 2: Tableware For our 2nd exercise, we were to make a composition of multiple table and kitchen ware (such as bowls, plates and glasses). For this, I decided to model a variety of kitchenware including a cutting board, a mocktail glass, a glass water bottle and its metal cap, a bowl and also a standard plate. For this, I used tools such as bevel, loop cut, extrude and more to ensure my work looked pleasant. Below are the final outputs:

Exercise 1: Primitive Objects

Image
Exercise 1: Primitive Objects  For the first exercise of this module, we were to build any object for our study space using primitive objects such as spheres, cylinders, cubes and more. We were also to add basic materials among other things. I chose to build a model inspired by Gundam which could be classified as a type of giant robot, also known as mecha. The below are my renders for said exercise, with and without wireframes respectively In this model, I used multiple objects and functions provided in blender such as the cube and the cylinder  which I further modified using the grab tool and he extrude tool among others.
